                  Recently, the 5th National College Chemical Design Competition is started its preliminary contest in seven zones. The project objective is to design a MTO/MTP branch plant for a coal-chemical complex enterprise. To encourage independent innovation and support a fair competition platform for all of the competitors, Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP), CAS and Syn Energy Technology Company (SYN) disclosed the main technical data of DMTO technology for the first time. The multimedia cartoon of DMTO technology was also made public to the undergraduates for reference. Meanwhile, 12 directors from DICP and SYN are recommended with their contact information for providing further advice and guidance.

                  Considering the characteristics of our natural resources, it becomes more and more important to reduce the over-dependence of olefin material on oil resource, especially for the sustainable development of economics and society. Developing new technologies to produce olefin from coal or natural gas became a hot research spot. As a result, the design objective of the 5th National College Chemical Design Competition is to design a MTO/MTO branch plant for a coal-chemical complex enterprise. As the licensor of DMTO technology, SYN actively supported background information and disclosed the main technical data of DMTO technology for the undergraduates for reference. The competitors could download the detailed information from the download center of the committee website or SYN website.

                  Recently, many competitors left message or called to SYN for detailed DMTO technology. DMTO technology is the first commercialized MTO technology in the world, and is the only national technology with its proprietary intellectual property rights in Shenhua Baotou Coal to Olefin Plant, the first CTO project in the world. SYN, together with DICP is encouraging the undergraduates to make innovations in this competition and make contribution for the technological developing of our country.
